Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer II to join our development team at Surgical Information Systems working on our Surgical Notes applications. This mid-level position is ideal for candidates with solid experience in C#, SQL, and React, and a desire to contribute to both legacy and modern web/web form application development. Familiarity with WebForms is a plus as we maintain and gradually modernize parts of our legacy application stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using C# and React.
- Write and optimize queries and stored procedures using SQL Server.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high-quality code.
- Maintain and support existing applications, including those built with ASP.NET WebForms.
- Identify areas for improvement in software architecture and contribute to refactoring efforts.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend practical applications to enhance the team's productivity and product capabilities.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency with C# and the .NET Framework/Core.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server, relational database design, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience developing front-end applications using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern web service development.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred:
- Experience maintaining or migrating applications built with ASP.NET WebForms.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
