Job Summary
Proactive Cisco L2 Engineer to troubleshoot LAN/Wi-Fi issues, coordinate ISP escalations, and maintain enterprise network stability. Focus on Cisco Catalyst/Nexus switches, Meraki/Aironet wireless, and WAN circuit diagnostics. Escalate complex issues to L3 teams. This is an ideal role for candidates with hands-on Cisco experience (Catalyst/Meraki) and a passion for LAN operations and enterprise troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

LAN/Wi-Fi Support:
Diagnose Cisco Catalyst/Nexus switch issues: port status, VLAN misconfigurations, MAC address-table analysis.
Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity (SSID, roaming, signal interference) via Cisco WLCs/Meraki dashboards.
Resolve DHCP/DNS failures, port-security violations (MAC limiting, BPDU guard).

ISP/WAN Coordination:
Engage ISPs for circuit outages: provide traceroutes, interface stats, NetFlow data.
Monitor BGP/MPLS circuit performance and escalate routing issues to L3.

Network Operations:
Use CLI commands (show interface, show cdp neighbors) for real-time diagnostics.
Document incidents in ServiceNow; update network topology maps.
Leverage SolarWinds/PRTG for proactive fault detection and SLA reporting.

Technical Requirements
Core Tools: Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Meraki Dashboard, Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetFlow.
Protocols: TCP/IP, STP, VLANs (802.1Q), HSRP, DHCP snooping, 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6.
Hardware: Catalyst 9200/9300, Nexus 2K/5K, Cisco Aironet 2800/3800, Meraki MRs.

Qualifications:
CCNA/CCNP certification with 2+ years hands-on experience.
5+ years in L2 network support (Cisco switches/Wi-Fi, ISP ticket management).
Proficiency in CLI-based troubleshooting and WAN/LAN protocol analysis.
Advanced Wi-Fi diagnostics (RF surveys, spectrum analysis).
Exposure to SD-WAN, Cisco DNA Center, or automation (Python/Ansible).
