Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) to join our production team in the sheet metal fabrication division. The GET will undergo structured on-the-job training, working closely with senior engineers and supervisors to gain hands-on experience in production processes, quality control, and shop floor management.
Role & responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily production activities.
- Learn and support sheet metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and roll forming.
- Monitor machine operations and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- data collection & report preparation.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor production and process issues under supervision.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Support initiatives for process improvements, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Design.
- Maintain production records, shift reports, and documentation as required.
- Assist in conducting time and motion studies, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and production planning.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings, GD&T, and fabrication tolerances.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic understanding of CAD/CAM software (optional).
Educational Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
