Job Description
Role: Network Operations Engineer
# of Roles: 1
Duration: 12 months with an option to Extend.
Experience Range: 7-10 years
Work Time : 9:00am to 5:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Shift Rotational: - 1 - 9am to 6pm, Shift-2 -12 pm to 9 pm, Shift -3 - Night shift timings to be confirmed
Location : Onsite, Mumbai ( IIFL House, Sun Infotech Park, B23, Road No 16V, Wagle Estate Thane West 400604. Maharashtra. India)
Mode of work: Onsite, 5 days a week.
Start Date : 1st June 2025
Mandatory:
- Routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP, datacenter networking, Cisco/Juniper devices, Nexus switches, load balancers, firewalls, network security, QoS, troubleshooting, packet analysis, network automation, documentation, change management.
- Network monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, SNMP, NetFlow, performance tuning, capacity planning, traffic analysis, network protocols (BGP/OSPF), monitoring tools (SolarWinds/PRTG), reporting and analytics, escalation handling, automation scripting, SLA management, documentation.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise networking, routing and switching protocols, network security, and performance optimization. This role requires hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices, data center networking, and advanced network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Architecture & Operations:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure across multiple sites and data centers.
- Manage routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
- Configure and manage VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP, and other Layer 2/3 technologies.
- Deploy and maintain Cisco Nexus switches, Juniper devices, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Ensure high availability and performance through QoS, redundancy, and traffic engineering.
- Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Performance:
- Proactively monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, NetFlow, and SNMP.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues with packet analysis and root cause determination.
- Conduct regular capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning.
- Handle incident management, escalation resolution, and adherence to SLA requirements.
Security & Automation:
- Implement and enforce network security best practices (ACLs, firewalls, segmentation).
- Participate in regular change management and documentation of network configurations.
- Automate routine network tasks using scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) to increase efficiency and reduce human error.
Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, security, applications) to support project needs and resolve issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or network operations.
- Strong hands-on expertise in routing and switching technologies and protocols.
- Proficient with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
- Experience with data center networking, including Cisco Nexus platforms.
- Solid knowledge of load balancers, firewalls, and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with QoS, packet analysis, and network troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with network monitoring systems (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Strong scripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, or equivalent).
- Excellent documentation, communication, and incident handling skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications: CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or similar.
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute).
- Exposure to SD-WAN and modern network virtualization technologies.
