- Opportunity:As a Software Development Engineer I (Backend) at Hiver, you will play a pivotal role in building our technical landscape and learning with our team while contributing to our vibrant company culture
- With our customer base expanding rapidly and processing over 5 million emails daily for thousands of active users, you will be at the forefront of creating and enhancing the user experience
- In this role, you will work with a team of highly skilled engineers while providing critical technical direction to our back-end development efforts
- You will also have the exciting opportunity to tackle intricate technical challenges, including optimizing our architecture to handle the surging email volume and establishing a framework to monitor and enhance the performance of our back-end systems
- You will be working on: Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs for our B2B SaaS platform
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following software engineering best practices
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA to deliver high-impact features
- Taking ownership of small to medium-sized modules and features, from ideation to production
- Debugging and resolving production issues, and continuously improving system performance and reliability
- Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with peers to foster a strong engineering culture
- We are looking for: 1-2 years of experience in software development with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Proficiency in at least one backend language like Python hands-on experience with modern frameworks
- Exposure to relational databases (MySQL with a solid understanding of SQL), Redis, Queues Caching techniques Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS) A passion for solving real-world customer problems through technology
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- A learning mindset and enthusiasm to grow in a fast-paced SaaS startup environment
