Job Description
Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Manage SAP NetWeaver platforms including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Fiori, Solution Manager, etc.
- Handle user administration, role management, and security setup in coordination with the SAP Security team.
- Monitor SAP system performance and carry out proactive capacity planning and tuning.
- Implement and manage SAP transport management systems (TMS).
- Perform daily system health checks, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, and database administrators.
- Manage SAP Notes, OSS tickets, and work with SAP support for issue resolution.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of the SAP environment and procedures.
- Proven expertise in SAP S/4 HANA migration, upgrades, and new installations.
- Deep experience in managing and configuring SAP on HANA, Sybase ASE, DB2 and MAX DB databases.
- Strong command over Linux, AIX, and Windows OS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with SAP ECC installations and upgrades.
- Proficient in client administration (copy, export/import, deletion).
- Advanced skills in Transport Management System, Role & Authorization, Spool Administration, and SAP Router.
- Experience with backup and restore strategies, both online and offline.
- Ability to analyze and resolve SAP system performance and runtime issues using logs and system monitoring.
- Expertise in applying Support Packs, Kernel upgrades, and profile maintenance via PFCG.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across SAP system, database, and OS-level issues.
- Familiar with RFC connections, remote user configuration, and spool request management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex SAP system landscapes including Development, Quality, and Production environments.
- Plan and execute SAP system installations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of SAP systems and associated databases.
- Mentor junior BASIS consultants and guide project teams on BASIS best practices.
- Coordinate with SAP support for OSS notes and system updates.
- Monitor and fine-tune system performance, conduct routine health checks and performance tuning.
- Own system change management, transport management, and disaster recovery processes.
- Collaborate with functional teams, developers, and business users for system enhancements and stability.
- Ensure compliance with backup, disaster recovery, and security protocols
- Guide and mentor junior BASIS consultants and support team members
- Perform routine health checks, performance tuning, and proactive system monitoring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clients
