Job Description

  • Role & responsibilities :
  • Provide L2 support for Asterisk-based VoIP solutions, troubleshooting SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and call-related issues.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Asterisk DialPlans and AGI scripts to enhance VoIP functionality.
  • Work with Perl/Python/PHP/Bash for AGI scripting and call automation.
  • Troubleshoot Linux system performance issues, including I/O performance, CPU, and memory utilization.
  • Manage storage solutions, including LVM, RAID, filesystem tuning, and disk monitoring.
  • Perform service management and manipulation (start, stop, restart services, analyze logs).
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, and security policies in Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues, including static routing, firewall rules, DNS, and VPN configurations.
  • Configure and maintain local repositories for package management (YUM, APT, RPM).
  • Monitor and manage incident tickets using ITIL-compliant tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Work closely with L1 and L3 teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of services hosted on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Troubleshoot MySQL databases, including query optimization, replication issues, and performance tuning.
  • Follow ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Preferred candidate profile


  • 3+ years of experience in L2 support handling Asterisk/VoIP issues.
  • Hands-on experience in Asterisk DialPlan development and AGI scripting (Perl, Python, PHP, or Bash).
  • Strong expertise in Linux system administration, including:
  • Storage management (LVM, RAID, disk partitioning, filesystem tuning).
  •  I/O performance monitoring (iostat, vmstat, iotop, SAR).
  •  Service management and manipulation (systemctl, journalctl, service logs).
  •  User and permission management (ACLs, sudoers, file ownership).
  •  Filesystem experience (EXT4, XFS, Btrfs, NFS, CIFS).
  •  Network management (static routing, iptables, firewalld, VPN, DNS).
  •  Package management (YUM, DNF, APT, RPM, configuring local repositories).
  • Hands-on experience with Asterisk, SIP, RTP, and VoIP codecs.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Load Balancing).
  • Experience with MySQL database administration, including performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with incident management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
  • Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or working knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and log analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
