Role Description:
The Data Analyst I role is part of the Global Internal Audit (GIA) team, supporting Booking.com and other brands under Booking Holdings. This position focuses on executing risk-based analytical approaches for operational, , and compliance audits across Booking Holdings companies.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Works independently and collaborates with teams across various business units, building positive relationships, and translating audit needs into technical solutions.
- Uses their past experience and seeks for help in complex scenarios to translate business problems into data driven insights.
- Develop and maintain key reports and data processing workflows within their scope, debugging them as necessary.
- Is able to communicate results and outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all levels based on their knowledge and experience.
- Actively participates in audit and/or analytics team activities and suggests ways of achieving objectives (standup, planning meeting, retrospectives)
- Networks and proactively connects with craft peers beyond the team scope
- Has strong understanding of the big data ecosystems
- Collaborates and is open to giving and receiving feedback with peers and direct stakeholders.
- Is flexible in adopting and proposing new approaches and expanding their technical competencies when a more efficient way presents itself
- Expected to get significant deep knowledge about the operational, tactical and strategic workings of the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrable experience analytics within audit, risk, or controls is desirable
- Strong Protagonist mindset of ownership beyond just execution
- Strong Business Acumen - ability to distil disparate communication and data into a coherent story
- Able to distil & relay complex, technical information to a non-technical audience
- Strong technical skills (SQL, Python, Tableau, Snowflake, Airflow)
- Experience in working with diverse, non-standard analytical datasets from various systems and data engineering principles as you will often be responsible for acquiring your own data
- Strong data management skills with a focus on data quality (timeliness & correctness)
- Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CISA, CISSP etc.) is a plus
