Job Description
- Server Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related hardware.
- Manage server roles and features, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and File Services.
- Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Active Directory Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructure, including forests, domains, and organizational units (OUs).
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions using AD.
- Implement and manage Group Policies to ensure a secure and efficient environment.
- Perform regular AD health checks and maintenance tasks.
- Domain Controllers and DNS:
- Install, configure, and manage Domain Controllers (DC) to ensure authentication and authorization services.
- Implement and manage DNS services, including zone management, record creation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of DNS services for internal and external resolution.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce server and network security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage security updates and patches for Windows Servers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to server and data security.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues.
- Resolve server and network problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex issues and implement solutions.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows Servers and Active Directory.
- Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and recovery testing.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain server and network documentation, including configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Prepare and maintain reports on server performance, capacity, and incidents.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain scripts for server automation tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Implement and manage automation tools and solutions to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Windows Server Administrator or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, and DNS services.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of server and network concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Proficiency in server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Group Policy management and implementation.
- Knowledge of security practices and technologies for server and network environments.
- Familiarity with server monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
