Job Description
Job Title: Senior Associate Hazardous Commodity
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in HAZD process

Shift: Night Shift (US shift)Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute all import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions, MSDS, DG declarations, and customs paperwork.
- Ensure strict compliance with DG (Dangerous Goods) regulations under IMDG, IATA, and country-specific requirements.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, shipping lines, airlines, and internal departments to ensure timely movement and clearance of shipments.
- Track and manage shipments end-to-end including sea, air, and road transportation with focus on hazardous cargo monitoring and risk mitigation.
- Classify goods using correct HS Codes and determine applicable duties, taxes, and compliance guidelines.
- Handle licensing, permits, and approvals for hazardous goods (e.g., DGFT, MOEF, Pollution Control Board, etc.).
- Negotiate freight rates and service contracts with shipping and logistics vendors.
- Monitor landed costs, analyze shipping expenses, and contribute to cost-reduction strategies.
- Maintain shipment records, prepare regular MIS reports, and assist in audits and regulatory inspections.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to customs, documentation errors, or delays.
- Stay updated with international shipping regulations and changes, especially those related to the transport of dangerous goods.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, International Trade, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in import/export operations, with at least 2 years handling hazardous shipments.
- Strong understanding of DG shipping regulations (IMDG Code, IATA DGR, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Familiarity with US customs procedures, ITAR, and EAR regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills; ability to work across departments and with global vendors.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word), and experience with ERP/logistics software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Willingness to work in US time zone (night shift).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Dangerous Goods Handling or IATA/IMDG compliance.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding or hazardous goods logistics companies.
- Working knowledge of US import/export platforms (e.g., ACE, AESDirect).
