Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Director with over 20 years of proven leadership in delivering large-scale, complex Digital Cash and Payments transformation programs. This role demands a strategic leader with a strong background in offshore delivery management, cross-functional leadership, and a track record of enabling high-impact business outcomes for global financial institutions.
The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in Digital Cash, Payments, and Banking, a solid understanding of offshore/onshore delivery dynamics, and a commitment to excellence in execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
1. Offshore Delivery Leadership:
- Lead large-scale offshore delivery teams to execute Digital Cash and Payments transformation initiatives, including platform modernization, process automation, and system integration.
- Define and drive delivery strategy from offshore, ensuring alignment with client expectations, SLAs, and program objectives.
- Coordinate with onshore leadership for seamless end-to-end execution across geographies.
2. Stakeholder & Client Engagement:
- Serve as the offshore counterpart to client-side executives, including CIOs and senior leadership, ensuring transparent communication, value delivery, and change management.
- Build strong relationships with global stakeholders including clients, regulators, and partner ecosystems to drive collaboration and trust.
3. Governance, Risk, and Compliance:
- Establish robust governance frameworks for offshore programs, including risk identification, mitigation planning, and compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity standards.
- Proactively monitor project health, conduct risk reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed.
4. People Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor large offshore teams (300+ resources) across delivery, product engineering, finance, and operations in a matrix structure.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement through coaching and leadership development.
5. Execution & Operational Excellence:
- Oversee offshore project planning, scope management, budgeting, and resource allocation while ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
- Drive excellence in execution through strong delivery governance, performance tracking, and KPI management.
6. Financial Management:
- Own offshore P&L responsibilities, including cost optimization, revenue recognition, margin improvement, and cash flow metrics (RPR, CPR, DSO).
- Partner with finance and sales leadership to align financial outcomes with strategic objectives.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
1. Domain Expertise:
- Extensive experience in Digital Cash and Payments, including core banking, trade finance, liquidity management, and transaction banking.
- Prior experience working in a Product company or System Integrator (SI) delivering solutions to Tier-1 banks.
2. Program Management:
- Expert in managing complex programs from offshore with a strong command of governance, delivery lifecycle, stakeholder reporting, and escalations.
- Experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives in a multi-vendor, multi-location setup.
3. Technical Acumen:
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, API-based platforms, and AI/ML capabilities in the banking and payments space.
- Knowledge of delivery methodologies like Agile, SAFe, and DevOps.
4. Leadership & Collaboration:
- Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams in a global matrixed environment.
- Skilled in influencing across business functions and geographies to drive program outcomes and operational synergy.
Key Requirements:
- B.Tech/M.Tech with 20+ years of experience in Tier 1 Services, FinTech, or Product firms.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development or architecture.
- Proven experience managing large-scale product deliveries in the banking or fintech domain.
- Strong critical thinking, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-performing, multi-disciplinary global teams.
- Deep expertise in technology delivery, banking systems, risk management, and compliance.
- Prior experience working under pressure in deadline-driven environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and analytical capabilities.
