Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing suppliers for raw materials such as fabrics, trims, labels, packaging and accessories, ensuring timely procurement at optimal cost, quality and lead time. The role supports production and merchandising teams by sourcing as per BOMs and tech packs, collecting swatches, lab dips and samples and coordinating buyer approvals. Key responsibilities include maintaining the Approved Vendor List (AVL), conducting vendor evaluations, negotiating prices, managing POs, tracking deliveries and resolving issues related to quality, delays or shortages. The candidate will liaise with internal teams, prepare weekly reports, maintain purchase records and assist in audits and compliance checks.
Qualification & Experience: Graduate in Textile/Fashion Technology, Supply Chain or a related field with 3-5 years' experience in apparel sourcing, preferably in a garment factory, textile unit or buying office. A PG Diploma in Merchandising or Sourcing is preferred. Strong knowledge of textiles, trims, accessories with excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills. Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/apparel ERPs), with a good understanding of quality standards and compliance norms.
