Job Description
- The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform to meet the organization's business needs
- They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, customize ServiceNow applications, develop workflows, and integrate with other systems
- The ServiceNow Developer will ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the ServiceNow platform and provide ongoing support and maintenance
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements and best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical solutions within the ServiceNow platform
- Configure and customize workflows, forms, reports, and dashboards in ServiceNow
- Develop and maintain integrations with external systems, using REST and SOAP APIs and other integration methods
- Implement and maintain ServiceNow best practices for system security, data privacy, and performance optimization
- Participate in system upgrades and migrations, ensuring compatibility and minimizing disruption to existing functionality
- Develop and execute test cases and perform thorough testing of ServiceNow applications to ensure quality and accuracy
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance of ServiceNow applications, addressing user issues, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and problems
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design, configuration, and deployment guides
- Stay updated with ServiceNow platform updates, new features, and industry trends to leverage the latest capabilities of the platform
- Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- Relevant ServiceNow certifications (eg, Certified Application Developer) are a plus
- X years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, working on ServiceNow platform customization, development, and integration projects
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow platform components, including Service Catalog, Incident Management, Change Management, and Service Portal
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Client Scripts
- Knowledge of ServiceNow workflows, UI policies, and ACLs (Access Control Lists)
- Familiarity with ServiceNow integration methods, such as REST and SOAP web services
- Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) processes and best practices
- Proficient in system configuration, customization, and development within ServiceNow
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug ServiceNow applications
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
