Job Description
The Salesforce Engagement Lead leads the project team and collaborates with team members, executives, and other stakeholders to ensure successful Salesforce outcomes. The Engagement Lead is the primary point of contact for both the client and the Salesforce Practice leaders. They look after all the functional, technical, people and project management aspects of a Salesforce project. Using business acumen, experiences across industries, thought leadership and Salesforce knowledge, they manage the project team and development sprints to deliver on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
Audience and Objective Validation: Understand the intended audiences for the Salesforce solution, the purpose of engaging them, and rigorously validate these against defined project objectives and success metrics.
Requirements Elicitation and User Story Definition: Lead collaborative team sessions to thoroughly understand project requirements and translate them into clear, comprehensive, and actionable user stories.
Iterative Delivery and Value Communication: Own and effectively communicate the iterative delivery "journey" of user stories through ongoing releases, emphasizing the rapid delivery of business value to stakeholders.
Project Momentum and Deliverable Quality: Drive the project forward with consistent momentum, ensuring the accuracy and high quality of all project deliverables, and providing well-reasoned consultative options and recommendations.
Proactive Customer Engagement: Proactively manage and nurture the customer relationship, consistently exceeding expectations through high-quality delivery and proactive engagement strategies.
Team and Resource Identification: Identify the necessary skills and team composition (including internal staff and external vendors) required to design, build, and deliver a comprehensive Salesforce solution.
Risk and Roadblock Management: Proactively identify and clearly communicate potential project risks and roadblocks, developing and implementing creative solutions to achieve project and business objectives despite challenges.
Proactive Stakeholder Communication: Maintain proactive and transparent communication with all relevant stakeholders (clients, employees, management) throughout the project lifecycle, including the tactful handling of difficult, sensitive, or confidential information.
Project Scope, Schedule, and Capacity Management: Be accountable for the overall project scope, schedule adherence, team capacity planning, and sprint velocity management.
Project Closure and Lessons Learned: Lead the formal sprint and project closure processes, including facilitating "lessons learned" debrief sessions to drive continuous improvement.
Proposal Development for Organic Growth: Collaborate closely with Account Directors and Solution Architects in creating proposals for organic growth opportunities, assisting in defining the project approach, estimates, and underlying assumptions.
Soft-Sales and Opportunity Identification: Actively identify and drive soft-sales (up-selling) opportunities or effectively articulate these opportunities to the appropriate internal channels.
Internal Team Feedback and Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback to internal project team members to foster skill-building, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.
Process Improvement Identification: Continuously identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement within the project delivery lifecycle.
Continuous Technology Learning: Stay current on emerging technologies relevant to the Salesforce ecosystem and general application development trends.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
At least 8+ years in a Salesforce consulting function with the well-known Salesforce consulting partners
Education: Bachelor s Degree, Master s degree a plus
Minimum 3+ years managing complex CRM software projects in scrum/agile environments
Minimum 5 + years implementing Salesforce technology-based applications
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, especially leadership and management of flexible scope
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with great attention to detail
Ability to avoid conflicts (e.g., technology design, personality differences) with clients while suggesting solutions that result in desired outcomes
Excellent presentations development and delivery ability (to all levels of the organization)
Excellent meeting management skills (e.g., agenda, managing expectations, facilitation, follow-up)
Exposure to multiple industries, B2B and B2C business models.
Efficient with Microsoft Project and other project management tools
Experience with Agile management tools such as JIRA and Agile Accelerator
Consulting background preferred
Salesforce Administrator Certification
