Senior Developer - Java Microservice Cloud @ SAP India

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Cloud Platform Integration is SAP?s strategic integration platform of choice (iPass) based on SAP Cloud Platform. With more than 9,000 customers and an ever increasing adoption, SAP Cloud Platform Integration is one of the most successful cloud services at SAP. In line with SAP?s multi-cloud strategy our service is running on various infrastructure providers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud and GovCloud (AWS). The unique value proposition of the platform is to provide Out-of-the-box integrations with prepackaged integrations from SAP and its partners to seamlessly provide A2A, B2B and B2G capabilities in cloud-cloud/onpremise-cloud environments which helps in significantly reducing integration project lead times for its customers.

We are looking for Developers who can join in our exiting journey of building next generation features. As part of 100 strong engineering team, you will gain experience in building enterprise scale Cloud Engineering applications with DevOps culture at the heart of what you do. You will have opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies like Microservice based applications, containers. You will also experience all the leading infrastructure and tools from AWS, Azure, AliCloud etc. You will have opportunities to work with Databases like PostgreSQL and Messaging systems like Kafka. You will also get exposure to Reactive programming, Spring Reactor and more.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As part of a cross-functional Scrum team you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Design, program and test product features by following agile development practices.
• Lead product definition and work closely with Architect in Architect Contribution for SAP Cloud Platform Integration.
• Demonstrate excellent quality, design, development and delivery skills in scrum teams working in short development and release cycles.
• Consult stakeholders and customers as expert in the integration domain.
• Support DevOps related tasks including delivery, operations and support of the cloud service.
• Drive improvements and innovations in development processes.
• latest cutting-edge cloud technologies.
• Mentor team and showcase good team player skills
• Work with geographically distributed teams seamlessly

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree/Master Degree in computer engineering or equivalent subject
• 7 to 12 years of experience in Java and related technologies like Core Java, Spring, JDBC, JMS, REST

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Good knowledge of OOAD, algorithms, data structures, multithreading, design patterns, programming best practices
• OS and runtime experience (Linux, Windows, JVM, Web servers, Servlet Containers)
• Strong grasp on at least one relational database system such as SAP Hana, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DB2
• Experience of designing systems with HLD (High level Design) and LLD(Low level Design) knowledge
• Experience of working in an Agile Software development environment and teams.
• Understanding and experience of system quality, security, performance, maintainability & extensibility
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to ?go the extra mile? to ensure the highest quality of experience for our customers
• Strong social skills and team player - consensus building and openness to new ideas and intercultural co-operation.
• Continuous learning / Self learner

Good to Have skills

• Experience of working in distributed systems
• Exposure to Microservices based applications, Containers and Spring boot
• Experience of building cloud based applications with knowledge of cloud platforms (like AWS/Azure)

• Good knowledge in Messaging systems like Kafka
• DevOps mindset - inherent sense of ownership through the development and deployment lifecycle
• Exposure to Reactive programming, Spring Reactor
• Familiarity with the top OWASP threats and experience in mitigating these

Technologies / Tools / Architectures you could enjoy:
Cloud Foundry, Microservices, Continuous Delivery, Spring Boot, Spring Reactor, Docker, Kubernetes, Swagger, Karaf, Camel etc.
