This position is responsible for managing payroll processing and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, including PF, Gratuity, and Income Tax, for both Indian subsidiaries. Key duties include preparing the payroll register based on HR inputs, posting journal entries for regular and one-time payments to employees and contractors, and handling payroll-related bookkeeping. The role also involves working closely with HR and administrative teams. The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight while meeting tight deadlines.
What You ll Do
Process payroll on a monthly basis for employees and contractors.
Prepare monthly salary journal entries and end-of-month schedules, including salary and departmental cost analysis against the budget.
Ensure compliance with Indian statutory laws (PF, ESI, TDS, LWF) by making timely remittances and filings with government authorities, while staying updated on regulatory changes and their impact on payroll.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the Employee Full and Final Settlement process.
Handle payroll disbursements, including employee reimbursements.
Ensure timely distribution of pay slips and annual forms to employees.
Stay well-versed in Income Tax provisions, Gratuity provisions, and other payroll-related statutory compliances to maintain regulatory adherence.
Maintain all legally mandated registers as per local governing laws.
Utilize strong analytical skills to conduct payroll analysis.
Provide support for internal and external audit queries.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with various functional teams.
What We re Looking For
M.Com, MBA in Finance, or Inter CA with 8+ years of experience.
Knowledge of Indian payroll processing and compliance, specifically payroll-related regulations.
Industry experience and understanding of individual taxation applicable to employees.
Experience with Form 16, TDS and GST.
Experience with payroll and accounting software such as GreytHR, Tally, or ZOHO.
Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
Familiarity with statutory payroll laws, including gratuity, PF, and other related regulations.
Ability to adapt and learn new skills.
