Job Description
- Provide L2/L3 production support for business-critical mainframe applications.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
- Handle batch monitoring, job abends, and recovery using JCL and scheduling tools.
- Carry out impact analysis and implement code fixes or enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
- Support CICS online components and transactions, including debugging and performance tuning.
- Participate in periodic system health checks, audits, and maintenance activities.
- Follow ITIL-based support processes and maintain documentation for compliance.
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders for issue resolution and status updates.
Core Skills:
- Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS.
- Solid understanding of production support processes and batch cycle.
- Ability to analyze abends and debug code efficiently.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with tools like File-AID, Abend-AID, Expeditor, CA7/Control-M (or other job schedulers).
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to or experience with integrating mainframe applications with web services (SOAP/REST).
- Basic understanding of Agile or DevOps methodologies.
- Experience in Life and Annuity insurance.
