job requisition id25004967Software Engineering Senior AnalystPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Test Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Test Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust test data management solutions. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, quality assurance analysts, and other stakeholders to identify data requirements, develop test data strategies, and participate in the automation of data processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, software testing methodologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of Test Data Management ConceptsThe candidate should have a solid understanding of Test Data Management (TDM) concepts, including data masking, sub setting, synthetic data generation, data profiling, data provisioning, and data compliance.
  • Analytical SkillsThe ability to analyze complex data requirements, identify test data needs, and devise strategies for data provisioning. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary to address challenges related to data quality, availability, and security.
  • Mainframe ExperienceProficiency in working with Mainframe systems, including familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language), VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method), and other mainframe technologies commonly used in data processing.
  • Understanding of Mainframe Data StructuresKnowledge of mainframe data structures such as fixed-length records, VSAM files, and Sequential Data Sets (PDS/PDSE) is essential for managing test data in mainframe environments. Experience in generating test data directly on mainframe systems using utilities like File-AID, CA File Master Plus, or IBM File Manager. Understanding of how to create and manipulate test data within mainframe datasets.
  • Mainframe Database SkillsKnowledge of mainframe databases such as DB2 for z/OS is beneficial for managing test data stored in these systems. Proficiency in writing SQL queries for mainframe databases may be required for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting Mainframe ApplicationsAbility to troubleshoot issues related to test data generation, data masking.
  • Communication and CollaborationEffective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and business stakeholders. The candidate should be capable of understanding and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Attention to DetailTest data management requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure that test environments accurately reflect production scenarios while adhering to data privacy and security standards.
  • Continuous Learning and AdaptabilityGiven the evolving nature of technology and data management practices, a willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and best practices is important. The candidate should be adaptable to changes in project requirements and industry trends.
  • Experience with Agile MethodologiesExperience working in Agile development environments, where rapid iteration and continuous integration are common, can be advantageous. Familiarity with Agile principles and practices like Scrum or Kanban is often preferred. Having experience using JIRA is a plus.
  • Team Player MentalityThe ability to work effectively as part of a team, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive work environment.
    • Qualifications (Technical Requirements):Required Skills:
  • Mandatory experience in Mainframe, JCL, VSAM.
  • Must have experience in SQL (preferably DB2)
  • Good to have exposure IBM File Manager, VSAM files
  • Good to have production support experience
    • Required Experience & Education:
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
    • Location & Hours of Work
  • Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate
  • Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
