We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer IV to join our team. The DevOps Engineer IV will automate, administer, integrate and configure clinical services and applications running in the AWS cloud. The engineer will focus on establishing best practices in the automation of the deployment and upgrades of critical services using industry-standard DevOps tools, such as Terraform, Jenkins and other tooling. The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineering teams and cloud-ops teams to act as an interface between development teams and infrastructure. The engineer will help to mentor and develop the devops skills of the development teams as we seek to establish a best-in-class system architecture that is reliable, maintainable, scalable and observable.
What you will be doing:
  • Understand the architecture of the various platforms and implement integrations between systems, both on-premise and in the cloud.
  • Automate the deployment and upgrade of AWS-based clinical services and applications using Terraform and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Standardizes service deployment using central automated deployment technologies
  • Cloud system architecture, design, implementation, administration, automation and documentation
  • Assists peers in troubleshooting and repairing of software technologies
  • Drive automation of system configuration and deployment of 3rd party services
  • Maintain patch repositories, apply patches, and ensure that they are applied correctly
  • Schedule, communicate, manage and automate change control in an enterprise-wide environment
  • Provide proactive support in an environment requiring availability of 99.9 %, along with participating in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Responsible for trouble-shooting different software issues and documenting the results.
  • Maintain production-grade applications in virtualized environments
  • Creates automated processes and procedures for cloud systems, related troubleshooting, security, and performance testing
  • Works directly with customer representative to create well architected solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field of study or the equivalent in documented work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience working with middleware and cloud-based application technologies in a production environment.
  • Experience with DevOps, Scrum, and SRE methodologies, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent
  • Strong hands-on experience managing and certification in Linux-based (Red Hat/CentOS/Amazon) operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of automation technologies like TerraForm, including the development of custom Terraform modules
  • Hands-on experience and certification on AWS cloud infrastructure resources, including Amazon S3, AMI, EC2, EKS, OpenSearch
  • Understanding of networking concepts (CIDR and subnetting, ports and protocols, VPN, routing)
  • Understanding of operational best practices, configuration management, and security controls
  • A working understanding of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Fargate, and ECS
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or equivalent
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, and Perl
  • Training and/or experience in a wide variety of technical platforms
