Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write alt text descriptions for images, graphs, charts, and multimedia elements in digital content.
- Ensure alt text accurately and succinctly conveys the content and context of visuals to users with visual impairments.
- Adhere to accessibility standards and guidelines, particularly WCAG, when creating alt text.
- Collaborate with project managers and content creators to gather necessary information and context for alt text creation.
- Review and revise alt text descriptions as needed to improve accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Stay updated on advancements in accessibility standards and integrate them into alt text writing processes.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance alt text writing skills and expertise.
- Maintain documentation of alt text tasks, including descriptions written and reviewed, project timelines, and any issues encountered.
- Assist in generating reports on alt text writing activities, including productivity metrics and quality assurance findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Health Science educational background.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to convey information accurately and concisely.
- Attention to detail and ability to review and revise alt text descriptions for accuracy and clarity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in accessibility standards and alt text writing best practices.
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and WCAG guidelines is a plus
