Job Description
CONTEXT OF THE SERVICE / PROJECT:
Within OBS, OCB Engineering team provides expert level support on the cloud hosting platforms to external and internal customers.
MAIN MISSION:
?Consultant - Virtualization Automation? is an expert profile who is responsible and specialized in VMWARE cloud infrastructure technologies, as well as in the development and maintenance of automation and cloud platform management tools. Expert will be integrate in a team of experts and actively contribute to the development of our business unit by offering our customers the latest features of VMware cloud products for Design and deployment activities for VMware cloud products.
Brief of activities would be performing by this role:
- Development and maintenance of automation solutions, tools, scripts on the Cloud Infrastructure
- Provisioning of cloud services and access to the cloud service for our customers
- Designing and defining an automation workflows and API integration with VMware Cloud Infrastructure
- Technical Design and industrialization of the VMware product and solutions
- Technical product engineering and validation with technical documentation
- Lifecycle management of solution and components using release management, vulnerability management, patch management, and Knowledge management.
- Technical support to architects/ offer experts of customer platforms
- Managing complex incidents and problems
- Study of new products/version, proof of concept, technology watch of the domain.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the last level of expertise support for shared cloud offer (Think, Build and RUN)PreSales Support: Qualification of new demands or customer specific solutions. Providing technical support on customized solution, planning, schedule, cost and risk assumptions
- Think Design: Design and industrialization of solutions and components, design validation and technical support to architects/ offer experts of customer platforms
- Build Integration : Development of solutions and components, transfer of Knowledge, documentation to OPS, IMPL and other ENG teams
- Release Management - validation of new releases, writing the RM Documentations (INM, COPY, TSD, Monitoring ?), technical handover to offer experts operation and implementation team
- Run: Lifecycle management of solution and components using release management, vulnerability management, patch management, and Knowledge management. Providing Level 3 support on complex incidents problems
- Techno watch : Study of new products/version, proof of concept, visibility on supplier roadmap and competitors
- Vendor management : Manage technical relationship with suppliers (meetings, exchanges,?)
Desired skills/knowledge:
- Expertise in managing VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter 6.5 / 6.7
- Experienced in VMware SDDC stack components
- Experienced in VMware vRealize Suites (vRA vRO)
- Experienced in development and integration of tools with VMware Cloud infrastructure
- Experienced in developing automation tools related to the VMWARE SDDC stack (vSphere/VRO / VRA).
- Experienced and familiar with the DEVOPS tools (GIT and REST API concepts)
- Experienced and familiar with the Cloud native automation tools Python, Ansible
- Excellent communication skills ((read, written, spoken)
- Problem solving skills and creativity
