Job Description
Discipline Description
Responsibilities for conducting mechanical, physical and chemical tests on various materials, interpreting results, and maintaining equipment. They also collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with safety protocols. The specific duties will depend on the nature of the materials being tested and the type of lab equipment.
Responsibilities
Conducting destructive and non-destructive testing of various materials, parts, and assemblies using advanced equipment
Collecting samples of materials from the field or laboratory, Performing physical, chemical, and electrical tests, and conducting inspections of materials, facilities, and equipment. Interpreting test results, preparing detailed reports, and providing recommendations based on findings
Able to understand ASTM/MIL/FTMS/TSO/ANSI and other standards and execute the test.
Understanding the test procedure/std and plan and execute the test
Knowledge and hands on experience in handling Universal Testing Machine, Flame test will be added advantage.
Awareness about AS9100 standard
Certified in Laboratory Management & Internal Audit as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 covering the following
Interpretation of clauses of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
Internal audits-Concepts & Procedure Concepts of UOM
Route to NABL accreditation
Coordination of TPM, AMC/Preventive maintenance, Calibration, operator walk-around checks of testing machines and ensuring adherence to 5-S standards and housekeeping in test lab area and Maintaining, calibrating, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of testing equipment
Basic understanding about calibration, measurement traceability, Uncertainty measurement
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
Assisting in training apprentices and trainees and providing guidance on laboratory procedures
Keeping accurate and detailed records of testing procedures, results, and reports
Assisting in inventory management and purchasing processes.
Ready to work in shifts.
Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant stream.
1-2 years in Material & Mechanical testing/Calibration/ QMS/Audit Management
Proficiency in English, Kannada, Hindi. Able to communicate and ensure strict adherence of company policies, procedures and rules
Key Soft Skills:
Knowledge on drawing reading
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Good Interpersonal Skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues/ resolve minor technical problems.
Ability to organize and manage workload effectively.
Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy in testing and reporting.
