Software Engineer : Java @ Colruyt It Consultancy

• 5+ years of Work experience in the Development and Maintenance of Java applications
• Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality Java solutions adhering to coding standards
• Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring boot, Angular, SQL, PL/SQL
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), and API Gateways.
• Experience with REST and SOAP web services, including design, development, and integration.
• Strong understanding of requirements, high-level and low-level designs, and implementation.
• Proficient in writing unit test cases (JUnit, Mockito) and integration test scenarios.
• Ability to interface effectively with technical architects, functional analysts, and application managers.
• Work independently on day-to-day support issues and analyze Priority issues
• Experience working with end users in operational environments to gather feedback and enhance solutions.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and application security best practices
• Ensures compliance with project deliverables in line with established project management methodologies.
• Stays updated with emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred qualifications: Oracle Certified Java Developer or similar certifications.

Required

• Experience with Java / J2EE frameworks across Presentation Layer Spring MVC, Business Layer Spring, Data Layer (JPA / Hibernate)
• Experience in Web-services SOAP and RESTful services
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), and API Gateways.
• Good Debugging and trouble shooting skills
• Experience in doing 'Impact Analysis' and Work Package Estimation' for Java applications
• Ability to design, Perform design / code review
• Application of Design Patterns / UML
• Follow operational processes like Incident and Problem Management (self and peers)
• Experience with Unit / Integration Testing (Junit / Mockito / Karma)
• Exposure to Profiling tools to address Performance related aspects
• Understanding of SDLC, waterfall and incremental methodologies
• Knowledge on ITIL concepts

Nice to Have

• Experience with Angular and above, HTML5, CSS3/Bootstrap
• Exposure to SOA principles
• Knowledge in the retail domain
• Agile SCRUM project working experience
• Experience in working with European clients
