Job Description

Embark your transformative journey with Barclays as a Development Manager/Architect, Vice President where youll play a pivotal role as technology expert and drive the business forward in helping our customers
You will own the architectural future of multiple technology platforms and ensure that the developments align to the overall Barclays technology strategy
Your role will be responsible to ensure that solutions balance the delivery, technology and enterprise impacts and enable adherence of all resiliency, observability, supportability, security and operational readiness requirements
You will also need to take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do
To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have
Extensive experience in solution architecture and design including application/infrastructure integration
Ability to produce comprehensive detailed technical design documentation
Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices using multiple technological stacks (Java, C#/VB Dot Net, Python, SQL/Oracle/Mongo DB etc ,) and DevOps automation (CI/CD Pipeline)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Prior experience in a similar role within a large enterprise along with experience in guiding Senior Developers
Ability to be hands-on and lead by example, can deliver artifacts that set the standard across solutions, architecture, designs, engineering
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
Functional/Domain experience in financial services Investment Banking/Markets
Ability to manage technical product selection process, scope & execute Tech spikes/Proof of Concepts
Hands-on experience in modernizing existing Technology stacks
Experience in Technical Debt and Cyber Resiliency initiatives

This role is based in our Pune office
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues
Accountabilities
Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools
Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change
Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the departments future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes
