    Designation: Deputy Manager Updated: February 28, 2025 Location: Gujarat, India Organization: Pulp and Fibre Job Description: Job Purpose To ensure cost optimization at the most possible. To achieve the utmost accuracy & transparency at each level of Contract Management. To provide the cost effective plans and ensure its implementations for the benefit of the organization. Job Context & Major Challenges Job Context: Grasim pulp & fibre business has grown over a period of last 50 years and has matured in terms of cost, quality & productivity. Today Grasim Viscose fibre is branded as Birla Viscose and is considered as most environment friendly textile grade viscose fibre known for its feel & comfort. Birla Cellulose plant has put up new plant to further strengthen the groups market leadership in the fibre business and expand its share in the world market. Major Challenges: 1. Contract Management with respect to safety, compliances and performance. 2. Co-ordination with user department to get complete scope of work related to service contracts. 3. Searching out the best service providers/contractors from the markets and comparing the best quotes for material handling, processes and other service activities. 4. Making them to follow statutory compliances for Service contracts. 5. Improving the terms and conditions of contracts. 6. Finding out the best method for cost optimization. 7. Follow ups and timely execution of POs. Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters) KRA1 Service Contracts: Minimum Wage implementations in all existing contracts of manpower supply Finding out alternatives for material handling & process contracts. 1. Ensuring timely revision of contracts by giving a proper work order with detail scope. 2. Receiving the rate revision notification from ER department and the impact will be given to all contractors as applicable. 3. Identifying the contractors in defaulters on non-compliances. Organizing meeting with them for non-repetitions and improving on compliances. 4. Interacting with user department for verifying the scope of work. 5. Sending the scope to multiple identified contractors. 6. Making them available to visit the plant for knowing the complete operation and sending them to ER & Safety department for knowing the compliances. 7. Making the comparatives from the offers received. Highlighting the complete terms and conditions exists in contracts. 8. Keeping in Approvals. Providing the LOI to start the initial process with a detailed work order to be released after mutually understanding of both. KRA2 Contractors/ Vendor Development: Exploring New Contractors/ Vendors & create healthy database 1. Exploring new potential contractors/vendors for creating competition to have effective negotiation. 2. Interaction with other group units for similar activity. 3. Sending them pre-Qualification & vendor evaluation for meeting our requirement. 4. Asking for a complete profile for keeping a healthy database. KRA3 Cost Optimization : To implement & initiate the cost optimization plan/measures. To initiate change in methods for effective cost reduction. 1. Interaction with other group units as well as outside group for current price trends. 2. Keep our-self updated about market trends. 3. Making a complete costing based upon the purchasing cost currently in markets. It helps in negotiations and cost optimization. 4. Understanding the existing methodology and suggesting for cost saving methodology. 5. Revisiting the cost provided and renegotiating with the costs additionally incurred which can be removed as per current practices during revision. KRA4 Contractors Safety Plan: To implement various safety activities related to contractors 1. To carry out Prequalification & Post qualification of contractors. 2. To float the tenders, highlighting the key expectations from contractors/ vendors for safety. 3. Taking the acceptance for following the safety policies as amending time to time. 4. To ensure that the Contractor Field Safety Audit form/ CSM / safety plan/other safety directives is being provided. 5. To ensure them to make available of safety PPEs to the entire contract workforce. 6. Safety observations in Enablon Qualifications: Bachelor Of Engineering,Master Of Commerce Minimum Experience Level: 10-15 Years Report to: Officer,
