Job Description
Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead AWS Cloud Engineering teams based in India, delivering complex cloud solutions to U.S. clients in a global delivery model. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in AWS cloud services, strong project and people management skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in an offshore-onshore setup.
Job Title: Senior Manager AWS Cloud Engineering (Offshore Delivery)
Location: Hyderabad: Onsite
Work Timings: Typically 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple AWS cloud engineering projects delivered from India for U.S.-based clients.
- Oversee teams of cloud engineers, DevOps specialists, developers and architects.
- Work closely with onshore and offshore leadership, and client stakeholders to ensure project alignment, clarity, and success.
- Own project delivery metrics including timelines, quality, budget, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive technical excellence and innovation for efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and grow the engineering team; ensure continuous learning and upskilling,
- Handle escalations, lead project reviews, and ensure proactive risk and issue management.
- Act as the bridge between engineering, client teams, and internal leadership to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ years in cloud engineering or cloud infrastructure, and at least 5+ years of experience managing project delivery.
- Proven track record of managing cloud engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) and cloud architecture best practices.
- Poses a culture of automation-first, and basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.
- Deep understanding of ITIL concepts (IM, PM, CM, Service Requests etc).
- Strong project management skills, agile delivery, resource planning, client communication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface with senior client stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization, security, or compliance practices
- Background in application modernization, application development, infrastructure engineering
