About the Role:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer ready to advance their career with a dynamic and growing IT Services organization. Based in Chandigarh, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performance network infrastructures for Oretas customers. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity, drive operational efficiency, and play a vital role in enabling customers' digital transformation journeys.
Role & responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Firewalls & Cloud Networking).
- Manage firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless infrastructure.
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-level network and performance issues for Managed Services Customers.
- Provide network advisory services to Oreta managed services customers.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Oreta Network portfolio to support in the planning and delivery of services including patch management, escalations and continuous improvement.
- Complete any required training and where applicable associated certifications
- Maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor the ticket queues/project cutovers and review technical correctness, driving and implementing the same as per target timelines.
- Use operational and diagnostic procedures to resolve escalated tickers in unique and complex client environments
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
- Working on the Network automation and optimization.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
- Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical leadership.
Preferred candidate profile
- 10+ years relevant industry experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure.
- Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSA, NSE 5 / NSE 6 or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proven experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or other major network hardware vendors.
- Ability to resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs).
- Proficiency in firewall technologies and VPNs (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Experience with SD-WAN, ZTNA, and network segmentation.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, LogicMonitor).
- Solid understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and DNS/DHCP.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in high-pressure or outage scenarios.
- Strong documentation skills for network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance windows.
