In the HPE Chief Technology Office, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Working with customers, we help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Security Operations Engineer to manage and administer our private cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS and Azure, with a keen understanding of cloud infrastructure, vulnerability remediation, and versioned code management. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively troubleshoot, manage vulnerabilities, and contribute to t deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, ideally using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
What youll do:
Cloud Infrastructure Management
Administer and manage private cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Perform regular maintenance, including updates and patches, to keep cloud environments secure and up-to-date.
AWS and Azure Expertise
Troubleshoot issues with EC2 instances and Linux hosts, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of problems.
Author, publish, and maintain Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to streamline deployment processes and maintain consistency across environments.
Vulnerability Remediation
Implement and manage vulnerability management processes to identify, assess, prioritize, and respond to security vulnerabilities.
Remediate common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) and address exposed credentials promptly to maintain a secure cloud environment.
Versioned Code Management
Navigate and edit code repositories effectively, ensuring that code changes are tracked and managed properly.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate code management practices into the deployment pipeline.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
Author and manage pipeline for CICD, automating the provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of CICD practices into the overall cloud strategy.
What you need to bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent with 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
AWS and Azure Experience:
Proficient in troubleshooting EC2 instances and Linux hosts.
Skilled in authoring, publishing, and maintaining Amazon Machine Images (AMIs).
Vulnerability Remediation:
Experienced in managing vulnerability processes, including the identification and remediation of common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs).
Capable of assessing, prioritizing, and responding to security threats and exposed credentials.
Versioned Code Management:
Proficient in navigating and editing code repositories, ensuring proper version control and collaboration with development teams.
Knowledge and Skills Desired:
Infrastructure as Code Deployment:
Experienced in authoring and managing modules for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment.
Familiarity with tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, or similar frameworks.
Recommended Certifications:
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner: Demonstrates foundational knowledge of AWS cloud services and solutions.
AWS SysOps Operator: Validates technical expertise in deployment, management, and operations on AWS.
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate: Confirms proficiency in managing Azure cloud services and supporting cloud infrastructure.
