ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, develop, and implement integration solutions utilizing Corepoint Integration Engine to facilitate interoperability between healthcare systems, applications, and devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • Configure and customize Corepoint Integration Engine to support complex data mapping, transformation, routing, and message orchestration requirements.
  • Utilize HL7 tools such as HL7Spy to analyze, troubleshoot, and validate HL7 messages, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain integration interfaces, connectors, and adapters to support seamless data exchange between disparate systems and applications.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance tuning of integration solutions to optimize reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders and clients on integration best practices, standards compliance, and system interoperability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and standards in healthcare interoperability, and evaluate their potential impact on integration strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors, partners, and external stakeholders to ensure interoperability requirements are met and integration interfaces are effectively implemented.
  • Document integration architectures, configurations, and processes, and contribute to the development of technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide realistic work estimates, deliver in timely manner and collaborate with other team members.
  • Report potential roadblocks and scope issues that may affect deadlines to the Manager.
  • Contribute to the product development and innovation process and brainstorming sessions.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • Proven experience (5 years) working as an Integration Engineer or similar role, with a focus on healthcare IT and interoperability standards.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Corepoint Integration Engine, including configuration, customization, and administration.
  • Proficiency in HL7 standards (e.g., HL7 v2, HL7 v3, FHIR) and experience using HL7 tools such as HL7Spy for message analysis and validation.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data exchange protocols, messaging formats, and interoperability standards (e.g., DICOM, X12, CCD, C-CDA).
  • Experience with healthcare information systems (e.g., EMR/EHR, HIS, RIS/PACS) and familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Proficiency in writing and understanding SQL queries and stored procedures for data manipulation, extraction, and transformation in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate understanding of .NET (C#) coding practices, including familiarity with concepts such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
