Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Devops Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage software development projects across diverse domains such as Gaming, Banking, Fintech, Fantasy Sports, IT, E-commerce, Logistics, Healthcare, and On-Demand Services. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, meeting deadlines, and exceeding client expectations.
Skill Sets
- Automation: Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripts or configuration management tools.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerization: Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code and configuration changes.
- Monitoring and Logging: Experience setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance.
- Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
- Networking: Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Security: Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in infrastructure and applications.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
- Administer Ubuntu, CentOS, and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems.
- Manage Microsoft and Mac Operating Systems.
- Deploy OS patches and perform system upgrades.
- Configure filesystems and allocate storage resources.
Scripting & Automation
- Develop Unix scripts for system management.
- Create scripts for automating infrastructure provisioning.
- Work with scripting and automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor infrastructure performance and develop utilization reports.
- Evaluate and implement new AWS services and solutions.
Application Hosting & Maintenance
- Coordinate, maintain, and develop application hosting environments on AWS and/or Azure.
- Manage DevOps processes and system services like Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Handle hardware maintenance, including servers, developer systems, storage, and networking.
- Knowledge in deploying various tech stacks like Nodejs, Reactjs, Java VertX, MongoDb, MySQL
Internet Traffic & Security Management
- Manage internet traffic, including duplications, load balancing, threat mitigation, and failover procedures.

Server & System Management
- Oversee server software and configuration management (Linux, containers).
- Set up and monitor system software for servers using open-source de-facto standards.
- Build and maintain high-availability and high scalability systems.
Cost Optimization & Documentation
- Optimize pricing for cloud infrastructure.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and valuable to the team.
Mentorship & Technical Guidance
- Mentor and guide junior members of the DevOps team.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development and operations teams on Terraform best practices and infrastructure automation.
Industry Awareness & Innovation
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies, assessing their relevance to the environment.

You will be part of the Multi-Channel Platform Web & Mobile Development Team at the Sciflare Technologies Pvt Ltd office in Chennai. The role is office-based, working from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
