Software Engineer @ Adastra Corp

Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing data pipelines and analytical tools. Youll work closely with software leads and cross-functional teams to build scalable, efficient, and intelligent data-driven applications that support real-time decision-making and business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Software & API Development Develop scalable backend systems and integrate RESTful APIs for data ingestion and processing
• Data Analysis & ETL Pipelines Work with PySpark, NumPy, Pandas/Polars, and Databricks to build and manage large-scale data pipelines
• Cloud Engineering Leverage Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure SQL, ADLS (Azure Data Lake Storage), and Queue Storage
• Data Validation & Optimization Ensure high-quality, efficient, and secure data pipelines that meet performance and scalability benchmarks
• Collaboration & Documentation Partner with cross-functional teams and contribute to clear, maintainable documentation

What Were Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software development or data engineering
• Proficiency in Python with strong experience in PySpark
• Deep knowledge of Databricks and working with large datasets
• Experience with Azure cloud tools (Functions, ADLS, SQL, Queue Storage)
• Strong background in API design and integration
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts and cloud-based data processing
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Bonus: SQL knowledge and experience with workflow orchestration tools
