Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization's hybrid
network architecture, encompassing on-premises data centers, wide area networks
(WAN), local area networks (LAN), and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure,
GCP).
- Develop and implement network strategies, standards, and procedures that ensure high
availability, performance, security, and scalability across the entire network
infrastructure.
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware and
software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and other network
devices in both on-prem and cloud settings.
- Manage and optimize connectivity between on-premises data centers and cloud
environments, including Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, VPNs, and other hybrid
connectivity solutions.
- Design and implement cloud-native networking solutions, such as Virtual Private Clouds
(VPCs), subnets, security groups, network ACLs, route tables, and load balancing within
various cloud provider platforms.
- Ensure network security best practices are implemented and maintained across the
hybrid environment, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention,
and access control.
- Lead network monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning to proactively
identify and address potential issues and ensure optimal network performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network
diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to improve the
efficiency, performance, and security of the hybrid network.
- Manage relationships with network vendors and service providers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the network engineering team, fostering a collaborative and
high-performing environment.
- Participate in incident response and problem resolution for network-related issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., Server, Storage, Security, Applications) to ensure
seamless integration and support for business applications.
- Manage network-related projects, including planning, execution, and budget
management.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in networking and cloud
computing.
Preferred candidate profile
Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level networks in
both on-premises data center and cloud environments.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs,
routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper,
Arista).
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with networking services in at least one
major cloud platform (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud VPC).
Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity models and technologies.
