SM / Manager - Linux Sys Admin @ Goods Services Tax

Works in conjunction with the IT Operations Manager / SM (IT) and shares responsibility for the installation, configuration, system management and operation of server hardware and software for the GSTN Internal IT systems. The Systems Administrator (Linux/Windows) works as part of the Information Technology Operations Team to maintain all server related assets applications and services. Performs other related duties as assigned to support GSTN functioning.

Responsibilities

• 7 -11 years working experience as Linux engineer installing server and Linux operating system (Red Hat, Cent OS).

• Certification in Red Hat Linux Operating System certifications and experience on Server hardware / Virtual environment will be preferred.

• Good understanding on Dell / HP Server management.

• Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot GSTN physical and virtual server infrastructure.

• Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot application environment and perform the tasks mentioned below

• Following core applications are installed and maintained

• SFTP etc.

• GPU Servers

• Web Server Infrastructure operations

• ITFMS Incident management

• Vendor Management for End user computing back-up solution

• Daily ITFMS report review and co-ordination

• Strong working knowledge of monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels

• Should have understanding of functionalities of Web and Application Servers (JAVA, PHP, Apache Tomcat) Installation, configuration and troubleshooting, coding knowledge is not required.

• Co-ordinate with Vendor on administration of server devices, ensure SLA adherence by Vendor, appropriate reporting of day to day server and OS related matters, monitoring, patch upgrades and hardening, operational tracker updates

Periodic review of asset list and ensure warranty and back lining with OEM, server and OS backup s and data protection, enhance the security of all devices OS, ensure proper patching and update and upkeep of documentations, capacity management, license management, participate in ITIL/ITSM calls. Support SM (IT) for these activities.

• Submit weekly Operation Calendar update status on MSP / Self deliverables.

• Basic Knowledge of Database MySQL and PostgreSQL installation, backup and restoration.

• Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture.

• Work with Operations manager / SM (IT) and Vendors in implementing new software and hardware technologies, in the process of troubleshooting the escalated incidents.

• Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.

• Demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective professional behavior and work ethic.

Key Attributes Skills

• B.E./B.Tech./MCA or equivalent degree from Government recognized institutions.

Minimum 7 years experience providing information technology administration services with 3-4 years experience in Linux administration. Certification from recognized programs that indicate mastery of systems, tools and techniques relevant to the assignment.

• The applicant must know Hindi and English Verbal and written. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from customers and managers.
