  • Summary
  • We're seeking someone to join our Discovery Operations team as a ServiceNow Discovery Administrator to manage and optimize the ServiceNow Discovery (ITOM) module, with expertise in MID Server Installation, ACC agent management, automation and orchestration tools and DevOps tool sets
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the functioning of complex projects and initiatives
  • Act as a subject matter expert in infrastructure architecture and design
  • Provide technical support in designing and implementing new onboarding of network discovery
  • Interact regularly with team members and occasionally leadership on a range of topics
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline operations and increase efficiency
  • Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement
  • System Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system health checks, patch management, and performance tuning
  • Monitor and manage system updates, annual upgrades, and patches to maintain platform security and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests related to the ServiceNow platform
  • Platform Customization and Development
  • Customize and configure the platform, including the employee portal, workflows, forms, and reports, to meet IT and business requirements
  • Develop and implement custom applications, modules, and system integrations based on organizational needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions
  • Help develop and ensure adherence to best practices for update set promotion between instances
  • Maintain thorough documentation of customizations and configurations
  • Required Skills
  • ServiceNow Discovery Expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, including configuration, customization, and troubleshooting
  • Configuration and CustomizationAbility to configure and customize ServiceNow Discovery to meet specific organizational needs
  • TroubleshootingSkills to diagnose and resolve issues that arise during the discovery process
  • Probes and SensorsUnderstanding of how to use and customize probes and sensors to collect and process data
  • PatternsKnowledge of creating and modifying discovery patterns using Neebula Discovery Language (NDL)
  • CMDB Management:
  • Understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) principles and best practices
  • Data IntegrityEnsuring the accuracy and completeness of data within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Relationship MappingUnderstanding and maintaining relationships between Configuration Items (CIs)2
  • Network and Infrastructure Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with network protocols, server infrastructure, and cloud environments
  • Network ProtocolsFamiliarity with protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, and SSH1
  • Server InfrastructureUnderstanding of server types, virtualization, and cloud environments
  • Virtual NetworksConfiguring and managing virtual networks, subnets, and VPNs within cloud environments
  • Load Balancing and ScalingSetting up load balancers and auto-scaling groups to ensure high availability and performance

  • Identifying and resolving issues during the onboarding process
  • Issue IdentificationQuickly identifying and diagnosing issues during the discovery process

  • ServiceNow IntegrationExperience integrating ServiceNow with these cloud platforms to automate discovery and asset management
  • Scripting and Automation:
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow's scripting environment to automate tasks and workflows
  • JavaScript ProficiencyWriting and debugging scripts within the ServiceNow environment
  • AutomationCreating automated workflows to streamline discovery processes
  • Integration Knowledge:
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems and tools using APIs and web services
  • APIs and Web ServicesExperience integrating ServiceNow with other systems using REST and SOAP APIs1
  • MID Server ManagementSetting up and managing MID Servers for secure communication between ServiceNow and other systems1
