Job Description
Job Title: Civil Site Engineer (Minimum 3 Years Experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Site Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in site management, construction supervision, and project execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision:
- Manage and supervise all site activities, including excavation, foundation work, structural, and finishing activities.
- Ensure that work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Monitor and report the progress of construction work to senior engineers or project managers.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
2. Quality Control:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards for materials and workmanship.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve any issues related to construction methods, materials, or labor.
3. Site Coordination:
- Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and consultants to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues on site.
- Organize and lead site meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Maintain records of site activities, including daily reports, safety audits, and inspections.
4. Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations on-site.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Promote a safety-first culture among all workers on-site.
5. Project Documentation:
- Maintain and update project documentation, including as-built drawings, material delivery reports, and work schedules.
- Prepare reports on the progress of construction, including any delays, cost overruns, or potential risks.
- Monitor and track site inventory and ensure that materials are available as per project requirements.
6. Cost and Time Management:
- Assist in monitoring the project budget and ensure that construction activities are carried out in a cost-effective manner.
- Track progress against project timelines, reporting delays or deviations to management.
- Provide input for cost estimations and budget planning during project phases.
7. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Act as a point of contact for the client and other stakeholders, providing updates on the status of the site.
- Resolve any on-site issues or complaints from clients or neighbors.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in site engineering, with hands-on experience in managing construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and project management tools.
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth understanding of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Previous work in one of the Gulf countries and speaking Arabic is an added advantage.
- Languages: Fluent in English
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience in specific types of construction projects (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure).
- Professional certifications in construction or project management (e.g., PMP, LEED).
Working Conditions:
- This position may require travel to construction sites.
- Regular site visits, which may involve long working hours and exposure to outdoor elements.
