 Senior Video Editor

Job Description

About the Role

As a Senior Video Editor, youll help shape and scale Fluids entire post-production function. From punchy social cuts to cinematic launch films and branded edit libraries, youll define what Fluid quality looks like in editing and begin laying the foundations for a team that can deliver it consistently.

Youll start as a senior craftsperson with a strong leadership mindset - setting standards, mentoring juniors, and architecting systems for editing at scale. If you thrive, this role evolves into Editing Lead within 36 months.

Youll begin by owning:

  • Editing Oversight: Guide all active editing projects long-form, short-form, motion-backed edits, and podcasts.
  • Creative Direction: Set standards for pacing, transitions, sound design, motion overlays, and storytelling style.
  • Team Collaboration: Mentor junior editors and interns, assign work, and give structured feedback.
  • Template Systems: Build reusable editing templates, LUT packs, motion presets, and toolkits to improve speed and consistency.
  • Cross-Team Sync: Work closely with Motion, Pre-Production, and Project Managers for smooth handoffs and delivery.
  • Client Delivery: Ensure every final video meets the brief, feels premium, and hits deadlines.

Requirements

About You

  • You live and breathe editing. You notice cut timing, audio flow, dead moments, and narrative rhythm by instinct.
  • You care about speed, but never ship sloppy work. You know how to scale quality with systems, not just hard work.
  • Youre great with feedback, both giving it and receiving it.
  • Youre calm under pressure, detail-obsessed, and comfortable managing multiple timelines.
  • You love working with founders and fast-moving clients and turning chaos into clarity.

Key Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • 36 years experience in video editing for digital-first brands, content creators, or agencies
  • Mastery of tools. Premiere Pro is a must. AE, DaVinci, or FCP are a bonus.
  • Versatile style range. From narrative content to high-energy edits, explainers, and branded reels
  • Strong communication. You can direct, write feedback, and explain your vision clearly
  • Taste-driven. You care about frames, fonts, pacing, music choice, and rhythm

Bonus Points

  • Experience building editing workflows or training junior editors
  • Have shipped content that went viral, launched products, or shaped brand identities
  • Worked closely with motion teams, colorists, or SFX teams
  • Exposure to managing edit timelines in Notion or similar tools
