The Program Manager will be responsible for the globalization of a portfolio of Symantec products and content. This will include the planning and execution of translation, review and all globalization tasks that will ensure high quality language deliverables.
Responsibilities Program Management
Lead, drive and manage a team of resources to complete the timely globalization of Symantec products to high quality standards.
Manage multiple active projects in a portfolio of Symantec product.
Plan, prepare and schedule translation, review, engineering and linguistic tasks to be conducted on multiple projects.
Accountable for accurate budget forecasting, the management of project costs, and the controlling of changes or over-runs.
Conduct and drive retrospectives and lessons learnt from a product and language quality perspective to deliver tangible improvements in processes, tools and products.
Manage risks, issues, and escalations.
Stakeholder Management
Strong stakeholder engagement and management with product development teams up to senior levels.
Partner with product teams and key contacts to ensure Globalization have accurate project roadmaps for a period of up to one year in the future.
Influence Globalization leadership and functional leaders where required to improve processes that impact product delivery.
Quality Management
Own the language quality strategy for an assigned portfolio of products
Owning and driving high quality language releases for each product in the assigned portfolio.
Drive the execution of the Language quality reviews across all assigned products in a portfolio.
Plan and coordinate with regional/local offices to conduct language quality reviews and approvals.
Coordinate the management of language assets to optimize leverage and improve consistency.
Conduct analysis on quality results, source and target language content, and processes in order to improve.
Support translation and review vendors with product information and reference material.
Coordinate term harvesting and terminology translation process for assigned products.

Experience
5+ years Globalization industry experience.
3+ years Program/Project Management experience.
2+ years experience working in Agile environment.
3+ years in Language Asset management.
Previous Language Management or Translator experience preferred.
PMI certified (or equivalent preferred)
