Job Description
Purpose
The purpose of this role is to manage the IT network, servers, firewall and computer systems on a day-to-day operational basis. In addition, you will project manage implementation of data capture systems and ERP solutions. The Candidate is also responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex server based network systems, IP phones EPABX, E-mail and web services, Surveillance systems, Biometric devices etc.
Role and Responsibilities
Departmental
- Provide vision and leadership in all aspects of IT delivery and IT strategy
- Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems, infrastructure, and services
- Monitor and further develop the existing IT infrastructure including but not limited to ERP, EPABX, IP Intercoms, CCTVs etc.
- Design, create and execute data led reports and dashboards
- Communicate with management team on IT related issues
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
- Plan and execute technological changes effectively considering the business output requirements and provide training if necessary
- Manage IT Licensing requirements
- Monitor and maintain IT assets and information security
- Manage Annual IT Budgets ensuring budgets are adhered to ensuring cost effectiveness
- Ensure delivery of hardware, software and all other IT equipment for business requirements in a timely manor
- Creation of executive reports as required
- Ensure that backup and disaster recovery processes are in place and reviewed regularly.
- Manage the daily backups.
- Lead the planning, enhancing and implementation of the IT infrastructure strategy across our group of companies.
- Keep up to date with current techniques and develop a technical strategy for the company.
- Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of company deployment methodology.
- Conduct project feasibility reviews of proposed IT developments as required.
- Provide dynamic project management and leadership to ensure the successful implementation of IT projects.
- Monitor and report on progress against agreed objectives, ensuring that issues of concern are raised in a timely manner and solutions proposed.
- Produce, review and amend Company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures relating to IT infrastructure.
- Provide reporting to the Management Team as required.
- Maintain an asset list of IT equipment across our organisations.
- Maintain relationships with key functions in all areas of the company to ensure consistent approach to the delivery of quality products and IT infrastructure.
- Ensure continuous inventory optimisation to meet business needs.
- Work alongside the IT Head, COO and CEO to identify and implement solutions against business requirements, provide query support and best practice knowledge.
Management
- Take responsibility for daily IT requirements across the company
- Manage 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support via people management of employed technicians or 3rd party IT Infrastructure and support vendors
- Direct, coach and support IT technicians in daily tasks or escalated troubleshooting
- Manage and maintain positive working relationships with IT Service Providers ensuring cost effectiveness
- Manage and coordinate with external providers for support, testing and project managing upgrades
Role Requirements
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar IT Manager/IT Project Manager role
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems including firewall configuration & maintenance
- Experience of working with MS SQL databases
- Experience of working with Power BI Reports / ERP suits like SAP, MS Dynamics or Odoo
- Experience in creating comprehensive reports / dashboards
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Office 365 suite
- Experience of developing a high performing team from recruitment to investing in their capability, motivation, and support
- Fluent English language, both verbal and written
- Willingness to enhance individual knowledge in areas of development
Desirable
- Experience within a Mining business or similar
- Experience in the development and management of ERP solutions
- Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
