Job Description
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain various database systems, including Azure SQL Database, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal scalability and efficiency.
- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity and data protection through regular testing and validation.
- Implement and enforce database security best practices, including user access control, encryption, and auditing, to safeguard sensitive data.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, such as performance degradation, connectivity issues, and data corruption.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and automation tools.
- Work closely with developers, cloud administrators, and other teams to support application development and deployment.
- Participate in an On-Call rotation to provide support for critical database systems.
Education / Qualifications
- Should have bachelors/master s degree in engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in SQL and other database query languages.
- Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization tools.
- Strong knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with SQL administration and optimization.
- Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, or Oracle Database are a plus.
