Whats this role about?
Reporting to the ITS Routing & Switching service team lead, the Network Specialist is seen as a technical expert in core networking infrastructure and technology.
This is a highly technical and hands-on role, with a focus on deployment, management and daily operation of the core networking and connectivity infrastructure. The role further requires troubleshooting complex operational issues as well as delivering first class support to internal business units.
You should possess in-depth knowledge of core networking concepts and technologies, working in a high impact, mission critical environment where service matters and exceeding expectations is the norm.

Key responsibilities
- Providing monitoring and support for all core network technologies and solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborating with internal IT teams to swiftly address and resolve issues as they arise.
- Implement changes to align with the evolving requirements of the business
- Managing vendor relationships to effectively troubleshoot and resolve core network related problems.
- Conducting preventive maintenance, including timely software and hardware upgrades, to enhance system reliability.
- Overseeing the technical lifecycle management for all core network services to ensure they remain current and effective.
- Adhering to and upholding established network policies and procedures to maintain compliance and standards.
- Documenting network processes, generating reports, and tracking metrics as required to provide visibility and accountability.
- Identifying and evaluating new technologies that can enhance and improve the existing network infrastructure.
Providing on-call support on a rota basis and being available for extended hours as needed to ensure continuous availability of core network services.

You will have experience in tracking incidents, requests, and changes using IT Service Management (ITSM) systems, ensuring that tickets are consistently updated, and clients are regularly informed throughout the lifecycle of each request until completion and closure.
