Role Description We are recruiting for our founding quant & engineering team in Mumbai; you'll own at least one vertical deeply, and collaborate across others: 1 Quantitative Research Develop advanced models for low-frequency predictions of returns and risks (primarily Indian equities, but including other asset classes) Build configurable, robust portfolio optimizers compatible with various benchmarks and constraints Drive continuous improvement of alpha generation and capacity expansion 2 Quantitative Development Build scalable quantitative investment systems and robust data pipelines for multi-asset-class support (equities, debt, commodities, foreign indices, etc) Develop and maintain comprehensive platforms for alpha research, backtesting, and live experimentation 3 Product Development / Full-Stack Engineering Rapidly prototype, conduct user experiments, validate portfolio customization needs, and iteratively enhance product experiences and client workflows, ensuring scalability and performance Build APIs and services that seamlessly integrate quantitative research, optimization outputs, and real-time portfolio analytics into intuitive user workflows Preferred Background Experience: 38 years in quant research, quant systems engineering, data science, or full-stack engineering Education: Strong academic background in quantitative disciplines (computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, etc) from premier institutions Prior Roles: Experience in quant investing/hedge/trading funds, fast-paced startups, or high-quality open-source contributions AI-native productivity: Fluency with cutting-edge AI tools Or something untraditional that trumps all of the above Compensation Highlights Top-of-market cash compensation (5080 lakh) Free access to Stellar's employee-only investment fund Stellar Culture Pursuit of Excellence We are not a family; we are a high-performance sports team- and our sport is solving users" problems Talent Density We prefer to hire one AI-augmented superhuman over five average players- that's why we offer top-of-market compensation and free access to the employee-only fund Relentless Innovation Dare to solve daunting problems with first principles thinking, multidisciplinary ingenuity, resourcefulness, and grit The Fast and The Curious The speed of execution and improvement matters more than perfection Radical Candor Being kind is more important than being nice- say what people need to hear, not what you think they want to hear, and actively seek feedback Truth Alone Triumphs Change your mind when the facts change, and don't fool yourself with vanity metrics (Delulu is not the solulu) Pride in Craftsmanship What we build ends up building us- this is more than "just work" Fewer Rules Rule Thrive in freedom by being self-motivated, taking ownership, and always acting in Stellar's best interests Contact hidden_email,
