ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Wind River Systems is seeking an experienced high-performing Technical Lead Software Engineer for a position developing a cloud-based platform that spans across all products from Wind River ( Wind River Linux, VxWorks, Simics) [BR1] [FJL2] .
The successful candidate will join a highly skilled development team delivering internal and external tools, and technologies across a complete DevSecOps platform, pioneering many new industry leading capabilities.
The successful candidate must have experience in cloud-native software development and be a highly adaptable team player who can quickly ramp up on innovative technologies and accomplish goals in a fast-paced agile environment. A combination of strong technical and communication skills is necessary.
In a company with significant growth and the leader in both cloud native and embedded platforms, you will be part of a team developing high value features for external customers and internal engineering teams. You will work with a variety of tools, cloud providers, and products to ensure delivery of high-quality code.
The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skills. You are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios.
ABOUT YOU
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop platform features with high-quality design and code of cloud native applications in our DevSecOps platform.
- Provide technical guidance and support to a team of motivated and skilled software engineers including coaching engineers to develop best practices in software development
- Handle work priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate and define activities of other engineers in the team
- Interact with other teams in different areas such as: architects, technical leads from other functional teams, support teams, product team representatives, and Integration/Release teams.
- Work with the QA/Test Team to ensure correct verification and validation of the deliverables
- Architect and develop production cloud native applications through testable and maintainable code
- Contribute to i nvestigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.
Required:
- 5-8+ years working in software development
- BSEE/BSCS or equivalent experience
- Strong e xperience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
- Strong e xperience with Docker and Kubernetes including security aspects
- Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- Strong experience with Go or any other of these languages: NodeJS, Java, Python
- Strong experience with SQL , Database design and DB migrations
- Strong experience with Git workflows
- Strong experience with IaC like Terraform and Helm Charts
- Experience with Linux shell scripting
- E ffective and flexible communication skills, both written and verbal , in English
Preferred:
- Experience with Angular (desired) or other web development frameworks
- Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger
- Experience with Postgresql, Redis and NoSQL
- Experience with A gile methodologies and Scrum
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Tekton
- Experience with Jira as a user
- Knowledge of common security practices for cloud native applications
- Contribution to the open-source community would be an asset.
