Job Description
- Responsible for end-to-end Quality Assurance of all sprints and meet all product goals along with the development counterparts
- Design and review manual automated test cases across multiple platforms - web and mobile devices
- Understand product architecture and domain in detail, drive overall test strategy, governance framework and lead a team of SDETs in the execution of end to end functional and regression testing
- Setup best in class QA processes for early detection of bugs and zero defect leakages
- Be a strong advocate for quality with all the stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in quality through all the phases of software delivery lifecycle
- Coordinate with other product stakeholders to plan QA activities and administer QA deliverables on a day to day basis
- Define, track and report quality metrics across the program providing actionable insights and initiate best practices processes for quality automation and their adoption
- Hire and develop a high performing SDET team
- Collaborate with a wide variety to stakeholders within business and technology teams to execute quality strategy
- Build Test cases, drive Test Automation, Support Triage along with investigation and debugging of issues and defects
- Responsible for Risk management and the respective mitigation plans
- Provide regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed
Core skills and qualifications required for this role are:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Automation
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing end-to-end quality efforts (Functional and Automated) for a set of web services of medium complexity and managing a team of QA engineers
- Strong people management skills with a proven track record in hiring and developing an SDET team
- Strong project management skills, preferably with experience in an agile development environment
- Strong QA background in defining and leading effective QA processes.
- Proven track record of researching, conceiving, and implementing an optimized Automated solution across test levels and types.
- Experience in automated testing of web services (REST/SOAP)
- Strong business and technology acumen - ability to translate business requirements into test cases and also provide technical solutions to business objectives
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to translate complicated business needs into technical requirements that can be delivered by technology teams and also influence, drive decisions within cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience of a strong critical thinking mindset to resolve blockers, conflicts, and advocate quality.
Qualifications pertinent to this role are:
- Experienced in implementing Quality and Automation Processes from scratch and manage/upgrade the existing processes
- Ability to write quality code in any high-level language
- Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize results
- Proven track record of change management and product delivery in complex and highly matrixed organizations
- Deep understanding of Automated Testing
- Familiarity with Web Services testing and database testing
- Experience playing a Scrum Master/Project manager role with end to end responsibilities of delivery
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science Engineering, MBA/PGDM or other related fields
- Experience with design and development of automation testing frameworks
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile Development Methodology
- Experience with Performance and Security Testing will be an added advantage
