Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure consistent achievement of the monthly primary sales targets as set at the beginning of each month, contributing to overall sales growth.
  • Drive efforts to meet or exceed secondary sales targets on a monthly basis, ensuring that products are effectively distributed to retailers and consumers.
  • Achieve the target number of unique outlets billed every month, with specific goals communicated before the month begins to increase market penetration.
  • Maintain the agreed category mix in line with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ensuring that product categories are balanced as per strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate the opening of new stores, meeting the monthly targets provided by the sales team to expand retail presence and market coverage.
  • Keep product returns to vendors below or at 3% as per AOP standards, focusing on minimizing product returns through efficient sales and inventory management.
  • Work towards meeting the target for Net AR Days, ensuring timely collections and optimizing the accounts receivable cycle in line with monthly targets.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of proven experience as an Area Sales Manager within the FMCG sector or a similar category.

  • Proficient in team leadership and management
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Effective problem-solving aptitude

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Expertise in sales planning and strategy development
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management
  • Analytical mindset for performance tracking and improvement
  • Experience in managing new store launches in alignment with business goals
  • Ability to optimize product mix for balanced category performance
  • Skilled in controlling RTV (Return to Vendor) rates and managing AR (Accounts Receivable) days to maintain financial stability
