Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Establish a team of additional developers that can develop our products with our full stack of technologies.
- Lead by taking ownership of the teams project delivery, and responsibility for the teams skills and productivity.
- Analyse, design, develop new components and services for our Uniface platform and products, contributing to our Oracle database schema and web services.
- Support and maintain our existing Uniface platform including the migration of our products across Uniface versions and upgrades.
- Maintain and develop applications that support and integrate with the core functionality in a range of technologies, including C#/.Net, JavaScript and Python.
- Involvement in the full development life cycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, unit testing and code documentation.
- Ownership of customer support issues from inception to completion, and management of support items across the team.
- Liaison across project teams to provide project updates, attend project meetings at all levels; follow and contribute to project management as required of an experienced technical team leader.
- Communicate effectively across Idox teams including Development, QA, Technical Support and Service Desk, and representing Idox with customers and users.
To be successful, you will need:
- Experience of Senior Developer responsibilities, up to Team Leader level.
- Strong technical skills, particularly in Uniface, with a desire to continuously learn new technical skills.
- Relevant software development qualifications and/or experience; demonstrable exposure to software development lifecycles.
- Self-motivation, able to use your own initiative, work well in a team and individually.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with strong analysis skills, and to be able to own problems through to resolution.
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and show excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and to be able to engage with colleagues across the business in Pune and the UK.
- The flexibility to respond to changing demands and take on additional responsibilities as required.
Additional desirable qualities:
- Exposure to other software development languages and platforms such as Web Applications, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience of GIS and spatial applications and data.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, and software building and automation platforms such as Git and Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.
- Understanding of REST API development and design.
