The Senior Database Administrator (Sr DBA) / Team Lead DBA - Infrastructure / Cloud Operations will primarily focus on database administration, performance optimization, and system stability while also demonstrating leadership skills to guide and support team members. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in database management, troubleshooting, and automation while contributing to process improvements and mentoring junior DBAs as needed.
Database Administration Performance Optimization:
Manage, maintain, and optimize QAD database environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
Perform proactive monitoring and tuning of databases to enhance stability and efficiency.
Implement automation and scripting for routine database tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
Ensure database backup, recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and tested regularly.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in database technologies, applying best practices to database administration.
Technical Guidance Collaboration:
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs and team members.
Act as a point of escalation for complex database-related issues and high-impact incidents.
Work closely with cloud operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless database integration and support.
Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, offering insights and recommendations on database changes and optimizations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure database strategies align with business goals and operational needs.
Leadership Process Improvement:
Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the DBA team.
Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of database management workflows.
Support the team in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and operational objectives.
Assist in onboarding, training, and guiding new team members as needed.
Adjust headcount or allocate additional resources based on workload and business priorities.
Education: Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of database administration experience, with exposure to leadership or mentoring responsibilities.
