Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Civil Engineer with a strong background in building construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. You will ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all phases of building construction projects from planning to completion.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure construction aligns with the approved designs.
- Prepare and review project estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and cost control documents.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Manage labor and material resources on-site efficiently.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Resolve any issues or delays at the construction site promptly.
- Verify contractor work and perform quality checks at various stages of construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- 5 years of experience in building construction (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
- Sound knowledge of structural design, RCC, masonry, finishing work, and MEP coordination.
- Familiar with construction techniques, materials, and safety standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other construction management tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with high-rise buildings or large-scale construction projects.
- Working knowledge of local construction laws and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site with some office-based reporting.
- Must be willing to work in various site conditions and extended hours when necessary.
