Job Description: Indoor RF Design & Planning Engineer
Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India
Work Schedule: 5 days a week, full-time office presence required (No Work From Home allowed)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled RF Design & Planning Engineer based out of our Indore office.
The role involves detailed review of local survey reports (GSSR/TSSR), capacity planning, coverage simulations, and preparation of Indoor design reports for cellular network infrastructure.
The candidate will work in the IBS planning, and optimization divisions will closely work with clients construction teams to ensure high-quality network design and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate GSSR and TSSR reports for completeness and accuracy, coordinating with construction teams for clarifications.
- Perform capacity calculations including sector and radio unit planning based on survey and design data.
- Conduct coverage simulations using industry-standard tools to optimize network coverage and capacity.
- Prepare design reports for initial, pre-final, final, and as-built stages following client templates.
- Collaborate with area engineers to gather interference and outdoor station information impacting design.
- Design indoor and outdoor cellular networks, focusing on high-traffic venues like stadiums and airports.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on latest IBS tools, design techniques, network architectures, and various design methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IBS Design and network planning in mobile networks mainly High-capacity venue design, DAS, small cell etc
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing technical survey reports.
- Strong understanding of cellular network architecture, radio propagation, capacity planning, and interference management.
- Proven experience designing indoor high-traffic environments such as Airports, Malls and stadiums is preferred.
- Effective communication for collaboration and problem solving skills.
Tools and Technical Knowledge
- Proficient with RF planning and simulation tools including:
- iBwave (Indoor wireless network design and simulation)
- MapInfo (GIS mapping and spatial analysis)
- RANPLAN (Coverage and capacity simulation)
- CAD file understanding and able to prepare as built design diagram.
- Other RF planning tools such as RadioPlanner, Infovista Planet, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Open RAN technology and network automation tools is a plus.
Work Environment
- The work location will be at Indore, Madhya Pradesh India.
- The role and delivery require to work at office environment. No Telework allowed in general.
