Role & responsibilities
i. Cloud Infra Management: Design, deploy, and manage GCP resources, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, networking, and identity services.
ii. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Implement and configure monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability of GCP services.
iii. Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce security policies, manage IAM roles, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
iv. Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain scripts for automation of operational tasks, using tools like Terraform, Python, or Cloud Deployment Manager.
v. Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to ensure cost-effective solutions are in place.
vi. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for cloud-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
vii. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures for knowledge transfer and compliance purposes.
viii. Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to support application deployment and integration in the cloud environment.
ix. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest GCP features and best practices; recommend improvements to cloud architecture and processes.
Qualifications:
Education: BTech. in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 7-8 years of experience in cloud administration, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
GCP Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of GCP services, architecture, and tools. GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, shell, Bash, or similar.
Containerization: Experience with container orchestration tools, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC, load balancing, and firewalls.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience migrating on-premises applications to GCP.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
