Job Description - Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Location- Pune
Roles and Responsibilities
- Experience with preparing mechanical requirements, design & testing documentation.
- Execute the entire lifecycle of the machine design process, from planning and design to testing and implementation.
- Analyse existing mechanical designs and refine them as per the requirements.
- Calculate cost estimates for material, bought out parts, assemblies, and the product.
- Build prototypes and perform unit level verification, Mechanical compliance testing
- Provide guidance and technical support during prototype assembly and installation of equipment.
- Consult with production teams during product manufacturing and advise them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required.
- Meet with suppliers, clients, and project stakeholders to review designs and alter as needed.
- Visit suppliers, clients locations whenever needed for unit verification, testing etc.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and devise solutions to resolve them.
- On time delivery and with Quality (As defined in Project plan)
- In weekly team meetings, provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues progress, strategize on steps for following week
- Lead & or support CAPA activities, if needed
- Working: All working days, work from office (Pimpri office), one day (each week) work from Philips, Chakan office.
Knowledge and Skills
- Concept generation and detailing
- Manufacturing processes sheet metal fabrication, casting and to some extent injection moulding and surface treatments
- Good understanding of surface treatment processes.
- Good understanding of GD&T, functional dimensioning and tolerance stack up
- Good understanding of design for assembly, manufacturing, and serviceability
- Handson experience on using PLM PDM tools such as Windchill
- Participate proto building, testing, verification activities.
- Good understanding of mechanical compliance testing.
- Some exposure to fixture design for reliability testing
- Experience with product packaging design is added advantage.
- Effective documentation, presentation, and composition skills
- Be a self-starter, action oriented, organized and disciplined.
- Experience in Mechanical DFMEA, DFM, PFMEA, Unit level design, testing, Verification etc.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
- Ability to work independently on concept generation, component modelling, and assembly building in 3D and 2D detailing on Creo, AutoCAD & Solidworks
- Experience with creation and release of project documentation on windchill.
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with quality systems, standards, ISO13485
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Attentive to detail
